EZ Messenger Staff - Reissue Instructions

How to process the reissue of citations.

The point of this queue is to notify Logistics that the citation is in need of corrections of any kind. Usually the Plaintiff name is spelled incorrectly, Defendant name is misspelled and/ or the address is missing an apartment number.

Important thing to know about this queue is if the court is a DISTRICT OR COUNTY court in TX the job can be assigned to E FILE READY MISC. That is all that is needed for those jobs. If the Court is within a PRECINCT IN TX we have to mail a paper request to the courts for them to reissue citation and or petitions.

**If the court requires the originals be returned to them and we do not have them in the file room, please print the AOLO dynaform – fill it out and have it notarized by Logistics clerks. Mail this with the reissue request.

  • Look at charges and events for notes as to why the citation is being reissued.

  • Go to job screen and click Dynaform search REISSUE.

  • Edit reissue request to reflect what is needed from the court.

  • Please see example as to what the reissue should look like.

  • Make a note in charges and events with the EVENT TYPE as COURT STATUS.

  • Example – Mailed reissue request to the court for a corrected citation.

  • Go to the case screen to print the label for the courts address by clicking L next to the courts name.

  • Assign the job to SENT TO COURT.

  • Place the REISSUE REQUEST, PETITION, and Business Reply Mail Envelope inside the envelope and place the court address label that was printed on the front of the envelope.

  • Postage will be applied to the envelope in the mailroom with the Pitney Bowes machine.

  • Place in the USPS mail bin to be mailed to the court.
