EZ Messenger Vendors - Code of Conduct for Service Vendors Version 1.0

Process Server Code of Conduct

This code of conduct applies to all In Network Service Vendors (Vendors) that provide services to EZ Messenger (EZM). Violating terms of this Code of Conduct can result in termination of your business relationship with EZ Messenger and a formal complaint being filed with your local entity that governs Service Vendors. 

  • Serving documents on behalf of EZM is a privilege and requires Vendors always remain professional while representing EZM. This includes refraining from using profanity and being respectful of people and surroundings. 

  • Vendors must be educated on the Civil Rules of Procedure that apply to all areas the Vendor provides service for. This includes eligibility requirements to serve process, appropriate methods of service, and license renewal requirements.

  • Vendor must be truthful and forthcoming concerning all process service-related matters. 

  • Vendor must not sign, submit, or file any misleading or false document to, or on behalf of, EZM. 

  •  Vendors must not serve process on any case the Vendor has an interest in, is a party to, or might be construed to have a conflict of interest for any reason. 

  • Vendors are prohibited from exaggerating their authority, position, or affiliation with a court, agency, or office. 

  • Vendors are not allowed to serve process for EZM while wearing a law enforcement uniform or carry a badge. 

  • Vendors must maintain up to date contact information with EZM including, but not limited to: Address, phone number, and email address. 

  • Vendors must respond timely to all inquiries from EZM. 

  •  Vendors must cooperate with any investigation initiated by EZM including, but not limited to, providing a statement, any applicable field notes, and any video and/or audio recordings related to the investigation. 

  •  Vendors will refrain from filing false reports or complaints to EZM about another Vendor.

  •  Vendors must report any felony or misdemeanor conviction to EZM within 24 hours of conviction. 

  •  Vendors must report any complaint levied against them by any other entity related to process serving regardless of whether the complaint involves EZM cases or not. 

  •  Vendors must not violate any city, state, or federal law in the course of serving process. 

  •  Vendors must protect all Sensitive Personal Information and not disclose that information to any third party for any reason. 

  •  Vendors must adhere to Field Sheet instructions in order to earn commission. These instructions vary by case and need to be reviewed for each service request.

  • Vendors are not permitted to open carry weapons of any kind while rendering service. Some clients may prohibit carrying of firearms in its entirety, that will be notated on the Field Sheet. 

  •  Vendors must comply with all aspects of the In Network Independent Contractor Service Agreement.
